Fundraising Auction!

Throughout the Stirling 900 Celebrations and Beyond we have featured a stunning photograph by local photographer and festival team member, Tom Astbury.

This impressive landscape was taken from Dumyat hill fort, capturing our city in all it’s awe-inspiring glory. Tom has titled it “The Most Important View in Scottish History". The photograph featured in our festival branding during the Stirling 900 year and has gone on to be selected as the front cover of our commemorative photo book, “Stirling 900: A Celebration of People and Place.”

Tom has kindly donated a framed print of this photograph to be used as a fundraiser for the Stirling Photography Festival.

This Giclee print is in landscape format and measures 15 inch by 10 inch, within a 29 inch by 21 inch frame.

The framed picture will be sold through an online auction, with the proceeds helping fund the future of the festival.

If you are interested in bidding please contact Tom by email at tom_astbury@yahoo.co.uk with the subject line “Bid for 900 photo” and tell him your best offer.

The picture will go to the highest bidder after the auction closing date of September 30th 2025.

A huge thank you to Tom for his generosity and to all who get involved in bidding and for supporting our Festival!

Capturing this special year!

To mark Stirling's 900th year as a Royal Burgh, the Stirling Photography Festival created a special commemorative photography book in celebration of Stirlingshire, the People and the Place. Generously sponsored by Stirling Heritage Alliance, this curated collection of photographs submitted by the public will be a unique record of this exceptional year.

The Book is now available to purchase from Stirling Heritage Alliance at their shop in the Church of the Holy Rude.

We would like to thank every member of our community for their entries.
